Disinformation is not always easy to recognise, and democratic resilience requires more than simply identifying what is “fake” or “true”. Throughout S.H.I.E.L.D., we learned to question sources, look for context, recognise emotional and manipulative techniques, verify information before sharing it and understand how narratives can influence our perceptions. Most importantly, young people should not only be treated as audiences of information: they can be critical thinkers, communicators and active contributors to stronger democratic communities.
